A Follow Up to the DCWKA Interview, Part 1: Female...
Hey, Internet. How’s your week been? Mine’s been kind of crazy. You see, I dressed up as Batgirl and went to a small event called the San Diego ComicCon. I asked a few questions, and the internet kind of exploded after that. The news sites reported on my questions and the responses they got. I was bewildered to find myself an overnight sensation. The problem was, the accounts of...

Tumblr Plugin Recommendations?
I’m finding Tumblr really counterintuitive to use. I’ve installed the Firefox ‘Missing E’ extension and that’s helping some, but I’d appreciate any recommendations/tips you have for making tumblr more usable.  I can install Greasemonkey scripts. Thanks, folks!

ampersandand: time-traveling-waitress: jesic: I was looking over kyrax2’s (the Batgirl cosplayer who repeatedly asked DC panels about the role of women) SDCC reports on Dreamwidth, and this line jumped out at me. Regarding question time at the final New 52 panel, kyrax2 wrote: “They almost cut the line off *right* before me, but at the last minute, they said that they could have another...

On interviews
Here’s a link to another interview I did recently.  It’s much shorter than the one at DCWKA and has a different focus. http://culturewarreporters.com/2011/07/28/the-batgirl-of-san-diego-diversity-in-the-dc-universe/

On Joss Whedon
Someone linked to this video in one of the notes on the interview I did with DCWKA, and called Joss Whedon the anti-Dan DiDio.  Holy crap, guys, if you haven’t seen it, it’s so worth a watch!  I don’t always agree with Whedon’s creative decisions, but right now I’m a little bit in love with him. It’s about eight minutes long, but if you’re pressed for...

A veteran pseudo-fictioneer.: An Interview with... →
Hey, thank you for the recommendation! I appreciate your concern.  Those Dreamwidth posts were intended more for some people I already knew rather than the huge exposure this interview got (Not counting my responses, I received a net of less than 20 comments on all four DW posts, every one of which I appreciated).  The interview is better researched than the casual updates I posted to DW....

An Interview with the Batgirl of the SDCC panels
dcwomenkickingass: There were lots of stories that came out of SDCC this year, but the one that has caught the attention of the comics community was a woman who dressed up as Batgirl to ask questions about female characters and creators at several DC Comics’ panels. I first became aware of her questions while following the live feeds of Newsarama and CBR. If you read this blog you know I have...

DC Women Kicking Ass: DC Comics SDCC panels:... →
dcwomenkickingass: The DC Comics panels at SDCC have been filled with what I being told are uncomfortable and awkward moments around the issues of female creators and characters. Much of this is being driven by a woman attending the DC panels with her young daughter. From people I’ve spoken to the daughter is a… I was the woman.  If anyone wants to say anything to me, I’m now on...
